Collins Street

This striking cushion measures 45 x 43 cm.

The Collins Street cushion in pink

Collins Street is a hand painted needlepoint cushion kit. It features a bold, geometric, mid-century design inspired by the dramatic fabrics of the 1960’s .

Each canvas is individually hand painted which means you can order a variation of the colour scheme to suit you.

The base colour scheme includes:

  • a French Blue central motif
  • a white background
  • plus a feature colour (here in pink) and tonal highlight for the square grid

Inspired by the fabrics of the 1960’s

The Collins Street design has a very interesting story which includes a generous friend, a lovely uncle and his hoard of fabric swatches from his travels to Europe to buy silk and other luxurious fabrics for Australian fashion houses in the 1960’s.  You can read more here.

From a 1960’s silk swatch a needlepoint grows
