My August update

Hello stitchers! Thank you to those of you who have been in touch this last month. I love hearing from you. So many of you picking up your needlepoint, some after many years, to help you get through this terrible pandemic.

I believe that needlepoint has the potential to feel like a calming meditation and I like to think my kits are helping you to stay calm and well. Right now we all need as much calming as we can get.

Busy in the studio

This winter has been an exciting time in the studio. I’ve been working on a number of new designs as well as hand painting your orders. This Instagram image shows you my high tech drying process. Canvases drying on the Hills Hoist in the Winter sun. I invite you to visit my Instagram account and say Hi!

I’ve also had a number of commissions for colour variations on designs. One for a HaNoi cushion but instead of the red/pink flower the customer asked for a yellow/orange version, which I’m looking forward to seeing finished.

A new design

One of the Studio Stitches favourites is the Bottles design. It’s a lovely kit to stitch as each bottle and background Square is different in colour and shapes from the next and that makes it such fun to stitch.

I’ve updated this favourite by adding one green bottle in a vivid lime green which makes the rest of the colours really pop!

And just to make this design even more appealing it is the feature kit in the August Flash Sale along with the other two colour variations, so this month it’s just $95.

Normally in August ….

August in Adelaide is the time I enjoy the South Australian Living Artists Festival, and I would be sharing the work of textile artists from around the state. Instead you can visit  and see the work yourself. I must say I will miss the trips to studios and galleries, the coffees, chats with friends and artists and just participating in the experience with others. But a virtual festival is very much better than no festival, so do have a peek and enjoy.

Till next month, happy stitching and most importantly, stay well!
